About The Position

For over 50 years, BETA Fueling Systems in Reidsville, NC has led the aviation industry in the manufacture of reliable and safe refueling equipment. Everything we do is focused on improving the reliability, after sales support, and on-time delivery of equipment. The Mechanical Assembler will assemble, fit, fasten, and install parts for aviation fueling equipment and modules per blueprints and design specifications. Our Mechanical Assemblers work in a team environment but are also required to perform duties autonomously and with a quality first focus.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, welding helmet, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats
  • using hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools
  • ability to read written instructions
  • lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds independently

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary certificate highly preferred in aviation, mechanical, production, or maintenance trades
  • Automotive diagnosis and repair experience preferred, specifically engine and chassis
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics preferred
  • Experience with automotive fueling systems or aviation fueling systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, illustrations, and specifications to determine layouts, sequences of operations, or identities and relationships of parts
  • Align and fit structural assemblies manually, or signal forklift and hoist operators to position assemblies for joining
  • Assemble prefabricated parts to form subassemblies; includes hydraulics, pneumatic, and fuel components and fittings
  • Assemble, install, and connect parts, fittings, and assemblies on equipment, using layout tools, hand tools, power tools, and fasteners such as bolts, screws, rivets, and clamps
  • Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments and following blueprint lines and index points
  • Cut, trim, file, bend, and smooth parts, and verify sizes and fitting tolerances to ensure proper fit and clearance of parts
  • Join structural assemblies; includes vehicle chassis and other subassemblies
  • Assist in plant operations when needed and perform other duties as assigned
