Mechanical Assembler
About The Position
FieldBridge is looking for a Mechanical Assembler in Houston, TX to work for a worldwide provider of equipment and components used in oil and gas drilling and production operations. This is a temp/contract assignment (approx. 3–5 months) with no possibility of conversion to full-time. All interviews are conducted in-person, and candidates must have immediate availability to start if selected. FieldBridge is hiring a Mechanical Assembler to join a fast-paced warehouse/shop floor team in Houston. This role is responsible for assembling parts and subassemblies into finished products using hand tools, machines, and automated equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable reading blueprints.
Requirements
- Must be able to read assembly blueprints in English
- Previous assembly experience highly preferred
- Ability to pass a drug screen, background check, and physical
- Willing and able to work overtime and occasional weekends as required
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
- Adaptable and willing to be cross-trained
Responsibilities
- Assemble components by fastening parts and subassemblies to produce finished products
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions
- Position and align parts and subassemblies manually or using hoists/templates
- Perform quality control checks and verify specifications by measuring completed components
- Troubleshoot assembly problems and notify supervisor for additional resources as needed
