About The Position
SMS group is an industrial equipment manufacturer for the steel industry. We design, build, and service equipment across the globe with a strong technical services/machine shop network in North America. The right candidate will be a safety-minded person who enjoys hands-on work. This role involves assembling and disassembling various components, documenting daily activities, and performing cleaning, grinding, painting, and related tasks to buildings, equipment, components, and subassemblies. The position also includes performing clean-up, removal of trash, coolant, oil, scrap, chips, etc., and completing Maintenance Request Forms for items in the work area in need of repair. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, upholding a world-class standard of housekeeping, and working with a safety-conscious attitude are essential. Requirements
- Good mechanical skills.
- Good working knowledge of mechanical tools.
- Basic shop math and other necessary functions.
- Blueprint reading - interprets drawings.
- Self-motivation to identify, analyze and independently work to find solutions to flow issues.
- Ability to learn and understand critical processes and operations in assigned areas.
- Must be courteous and work well with others.
Responsibilities

- Work with a safety-conscious attitude and report any unsafe acts or areas to management.
