About The Position

The Mechanical Assembler I is responsible for the assembly and/or fabrication of mechanical parts, pieces or products according to the required specifications within the assigned area of production.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent
  • Requires 1-2 years related experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is a must.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents and follow simple instructions.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions and understand electrical diagrams
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
  • Must pass an assembly test
  • Basic knowledge for proper use of hand tools: tape measure, drills, pneumatic air tools
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb and use hands to grip regularly.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule is 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
  • Utilize hand held tools such as a hand held screw and drill gun
  • Maintain inventory of product in work stations
  • Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
