About The Position

ChampionX, now part of SLB, is hiring a Mechanical Assembler III in Houston, Texas. The role assembles, tests, inspects, and packages manufactured products according to work instructions, production drawings, schematics, engineering specifications, and test requirements. The assembler uses hand and power tools, machines, and test equipment, and completes quality and test documentation. Specific product assembly training, new-hire orientation, and on-the-job training are provided. The Level III assembler applies advanced skills in mastered assemblies, resolves most questions and problems independently, refers only the most complex issues to higher levels, identifies and leads improvement opportunities, mentors coworkers on safe practices, and teaches proper assembly techniques and procedures. The role also includes Level II functions, such as helping train less experienced assemblers, tracking production performance and inventory, completing nonconformance and engineering-change documentation, supporting audits, and using Oracle to execute manufacturing transactions. This is a safety-sensitive role in a climate-controlled warehouse or shop with standing workstations and often strenuous work. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with daily overtime and some weekend work required. Candidates must reside in Houston or surrounding areas. Uniforms are provided and required, as is company-provided PPE, including safety steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection. The position may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
