The schedule for this role is 1st shift Monday-Friday-6:00am – 2:30pm with overtime on an as needed basis.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant
  • Must be able to operate hand tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to read blueprints with some supervision

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years relevant assembly experience preferred
  • Experience installing aircraft fasteners, solid rivets, double action bolts, NAS, MS & AN hardware preferred, not required
  • Thorough knowledge of ACES Assembly (Final or Structure) preferred, not required

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products by reading blueprints and work instructions, including the use of measuring devices (scales, calipers etc.)
  • Perform sheet metal riveting functions using hand tools such as a rivet gun, rivet gun, shaver, rivet squeeze, hand clamps, bucking bars, drill press, pneumatic drill and specialized features to build sub-assemblies
  • Contact material handler or lead if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins
  • Perform necessary tasks to ensure on-time delivery of the product
  • Cross train and work in all areas of assembly operation
  • Safe ergonomic practices in performing job
  • Adhere to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct
  • Ensure quality product utilizing UTAS quality procedures
  • Look for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace
  • Provide continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and ACE initiatives
  • May perform other job duties as required and available for overtime as necessary
