About The Position

This is an entry-level position that assembles aircraft products under direct supervision and performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes. The role is onsite at our Colorado Springs, CO site. RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking motivated individuals to join Collins Aerospace, a leader in technologically advanced solutions for the aerospace and defense industry. Our Specialty Seating Systems division designs, develops, and manufactures aerospace specialty seating products, including dynamically certified cockpit and cabin crew seats, and crashworthy helicopter seats for major OEMs.

Requirements

HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment.
Ability to read blueprints with some supervision.
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Basic Computer Skills.
Basic Shop Math Skills.
Experience in installing aircraft fasteners, solid rivets, double action bolts, NAS, MS & AN hardware desired.
Willing to perform any task necessary to ensure the on-time delivery of the product to the customer.
Willing to cross-train and work in all areas of assembly operation.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order, under direct supervision.
Performs routine and standard tasks with minimal assistance.
Reads and assembles standard work or blueprint instructions, with some guidance.
May track and receive required parts for product area, and check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners for the particular work order. Contacts material handler or lead if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins.
Participates in all team stand-ups and uses safe ergonomic practices in performing job.
May pack finished product into designated carton.
Participates in EHS risk reduction activities.
Adheres to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct.
Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace.
Provides continuous improvement ideas to support lean and ACE initiatives.
May perform other job duties as required and available for overtime as necessary.
