About The Position

The Mechanical Assembler I is responsible for the final assembly of doors according to the daily production schedule. This involves reviewing daily requirements, work instructions, and bills of materials via an iPad to locate and gather necessary components. The parts are then staged, prepped, and assembled to complete the door orders and manufactured parts.

Requirements

• Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule of Monday - Thursday 3:00pm - 1:30am.
• Strong mechanical assembly background.
• Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions, and blueprints.
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Must be able to read and use a standard tape measure as well as other measuring tools.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.
• Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Some electrical assembly is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform final assemblies of door orders and manufactured parts per the daily production schedule.
• Read and follow blueprints, work orders, and other instructions to build and assemble parts accurately and efficiently.
• Pull stock components including small parts, hardware, and weldments.
• Attach motors, chains, straps, or any other components needed per the bill of materials in the weldments.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of manufactured parts.
• Clean and properly mark final assemblies.
• Inspect final assemblies and move them to the staging area.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Monitor stock levels.
• Troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
• Uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
