About The Position

Vantage Elevation, LLC is North America’s leading independent manufacturer of elevator components and systems. The Mechanical Applications Engineer I is responsible for developing project-specific layouts and technical solutions for specialty elevator equipment while ensuring compliance with customer specifications, engineering standards, and manufacturing requirements. This position collaborates with Sales, Customer Service, Estimating, Engineering, and Manufacturing to confirm product functionality, resolve technical issues, and support retrofit and custom projects. The role requires proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor, strong analytical and communication skills, and close attention to quality and production standards. The position works both independently and collaboratively to deliver accurate, practical, and timely engineering solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field with up to 2 years of relevant experience; or an Associate degree in a related technical field with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or similar CAD software
Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional work ethic, time management, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision when required.

Nice To Haves

Basic understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing, and engineering principles.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material (BOMs), and technical documentation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing, conflicting, or incomplete technical information.
Basic understanding of dimensional tolerances, mechanical components, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to learn and work with engineering and business systems such as Tacton CPQ, Visual ERP, and DocuWare.
Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Previous experience with elevator door equipment or related mechanical equipment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Developing project-specific layouts and technical solutions for specialty elevator equipment while ensuring compliance with customer specifications, engineering standards, and manufacturing requirements.
Collaborating with Sales, Customer Service, Estimating, Engineering, and Manufacturing to confirm product functionality, resolve technical issues, and support retrofit and custom projects.
Reviewing and interpreting customer requirements, specifications, drawings, surveys, and order information.
Analyzing job requirements and configuring the appropriate applications and equipment using a CPQ system.
Reviewing and modifying bills of materials, parts and material requirements using an ERP system.
Processing retrofitting projects that may require modification of company products and equipment.
Communicating and collaborating with various departments such as Customer Service, Estimating, Sales, and Manufacturing to ensure client specifications are met.
Problem-solving and answering questions about the technical functionality of mechanical equipment.
Providing technical support for mechanical products.
Orchestrating both simple and complex tasks with limited supervision.
Participating in information gathering calls and/or meetings with clients to determine the clients' needs, and desired outcomes.
Presenting information and new ideas for review and possible implementation into new and existing products.
Reviewing and understanding product design changes related to elevator equipment.
