About The Position

Advanced Technologies is currently seeking a Mechanical Analysis Intern to support the team by assisting with the development and implementation of unique engineering solutions. This is a Summer 2027 internship opportunity where innovative thinking is fostered and barrier-free teamwork is embraced every day. BWXT’s Advanced Technologies (AT) group researches, designs, and develops innovative new nuclear reactors, nuclear rocket propulsion systems, and radioisotope production systems for both internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a degree in engineering or physics.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver unique engineering solutions used in a nuclear environment.
• Create/Update drawings and procedures, design, test, examine, project management and procure materials as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Develop and present final reports.
