About The Position

Modify and repair aircraft systems and structures. This role involves completing structural modifications to helicopters, installing medical support systems and avionics systems, and accomplishing airframe structural repairs. The technician will also replace and repair components, perform operational checks of helicopter systems, and conduct track and balance operations on rotor systems. Fabrication of detail sheet metal parts from blueprints and development of custom installations for medical and avionics equipment are key aspects of the job. Travel to base locations for repairs or modifications may be required. The position also includes maintaining shop equipment and areas, performing maintenance on rotating components like engines and transmissions, and training new employees on company processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Five to seven years’ related aircraft sheet metal repair and modification experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Experience reading precision measuring equipment
  • Experience in use of sheet metal related shop equipment
  • Proficient in using manufacturer’s maintenance manuals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certification
  • Subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per the DOT/FAA requirements

Responsibilities

  • Complete structural modifications to helicopters

  • Accomplish airframe structural repairs
  • Replace and repair components in accordance with aircraft maintenance manuals
  • Perform operational checks of helicopter systems

  • Develop custom installations for medical and avionics equipment
  • Travel to base locations to accomplish repairs or modifications
  • Maintain shop equipment and areas
  • Perform maintenance on rotating components of helicopters, i.e. Engines, Transmission, and Drive Shafts
  • Train new employees on United Rotorcraft processes & procedures
