About The Position

The Shop Mechanic/Welder must be a safety conscious, hardworking individual, with Mechanical skills. The position requires assembly and fabrication of environmental equipment. Work will be performed at times in a team environment. Good communication skills are required and the ability to follow directions.
Requirements
- High School degree or equivalent is required
- Technical welding certification is required form a recognized trade school (apprenticeship may substitute for certification)
- Minimum of one year welding and maintaining capital equipment
- Working knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), general computer skills a must
Nice To Haves
- Additional knowledge of construction, machining, mechanical diagnostics, etc. is helpful
Responsibilities
- Proficient in welding techniques and knowledge of materials for welding of various steel alloys, aluminum, and other metals
- Can read and understand mechanical drawings
- Working knowledge of weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.) and conventional and precision measuring instruments
- Can do finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
- Perform all necessary welding including all auger and bit maintenance and repairs, fabrication and any special projects
- Keep welding area clean and organized
- Perform service runs for field crews and shop as assigned
- Perform all work in compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Requisition of materials and supplies
- Assist with other labor and mechanical needs
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned
- Repair and maintain all drill rigs, trucks, trailers and other equipment
- Complete paperwork for all repairs and maintenance and maintain records
