We are looking for a Mechanic to join our team at the Repair Shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and replacing various engine components, transmissions, powertrains, differentials, and exhaust systems across a wide range of equipment. This includes small engines, landscaping equipment, light trucks, heavy equipment, and vehicles. The role involves using computerized diagnostic tools, conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and performing annual safety inspections. Additionally, the mechanic will fabricate, rebuild, and modify parts using welding techniques, and ensure repairs are performed promptly to minimize downtime. Specialized technical services include diagnosing and repairing electrical and hydraulic systems, servicing powertrain and drivetrain components, and repairing suspension and brake systems. The position also involves collaborating with the Inventory & Service Coordinator to maintain repair records and assist with parts ordering and inventory management. A clean, safe, and organized repair shop must be maintained. The role may also require traveling to various sites within the GTA for on-site service and field repairs, performing diagnostics and emergency repairs, and communicating effectively with site personnel. Maintaining a proactive safety culture and ensuring adherence to all workplace safety regulations, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Highway Traffic Act, is crucial. Regular safety checks and risk assessments are required, along with ensuring compliance with the Funeral, Burial, and Cremation Services Act (FBCSA) and Cemetery By-laws. Additional duties may be assigned by the Manager, Fleet and Equipment Services.
