About The Position

Tico is hiring Mechanics of all skill levels and shifts at our Laporte, Texas site. This position is typically an 8-hour shift, with occasional overtime. Our fleet consists of 95% trucks built at our plant in Ridgeland, SC, all featuring the same power package and driveline. Their mirrored design simplifies the learning process for mechanics, and we are willing to train the right candidate.

Must maintain your own tool set (company provided tool program available.)

Nice To Haves

2+ year experience in either/or : Heavy truck repair, Heavy, medium duty or farm equipment repair, Forklift or construction equipment repair, Automotive maintenance and repair.
Completion of a diesel or automotive tech program.
Good attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, A/C, steering, cooling, DPF, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Ability to utilize computer software diagnostic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs.
Performs maintenance related work as required.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
