About The Position

This role is responsible for performing all aspects of mechanical maintenance and associated equipment and machinery. The mechanic will manage a proactive maintenance program, conduct inspections and diagnostic tests, evaluate performance of drive train components, and install, adjust, or align brakes and wheel components. They will also perform preventive maintenance, contain costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating parts options, maintain vehicle appearance, and keep accurate vehicle records. Other tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

  • One year of experience working with diesel engines.
  • One to three years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
  • Experience as a truck maintenance mechanic or inspector at a commercial garage, fleet leasing company, or similar facility.
  • Experience with brake maintenance and inspection at a commercial garage, fleet leasing company, or similar facility.
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug screen prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a proactive maintenance program.
  • Conducts inspections and diagnostic tests to determine equipment or vehicle conditions and identify worn or damaged parts.
  • Evaluate Performance of all drive train component work on trucks, steering systems.
  • Ability to install, adjust or align brakes, and wheels and wheel components such as bearings and air brake and valve systems to diagnose and repair braking and valve systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all units as scheduled.
  • Contain cost by utilizing applicable warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
  • Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
