About The Position

The Fleet Mechanic 2 is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Company fleet equipment to include, class 1-8 diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, and forklifts by performing the essential job duties. The day-to-day tasks involve performing various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipment, troubleshooting mechanical and electronic malfunctions, and performing all types of repairs, including rebuilding/replacing major equipment components. The role also includes performing emergency roadside services as needed, researching and ordering parts, accurately recording usage, and assisting in managing stock inventory. Additionally, the mechanic will complete electronic work orders, ensuring all information is recorded in the computerized maintenance system, and assist team members with troubleshooting, repairs, parts research, and equipment inspection. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, following all Good Manufacturing Practices, and performing appropriate duties as assigned by management are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

Minimum age of 18 years old
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Advance knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty and material handling equipment
Ability to operate hand tools and others such as bench grinders, torch, drill press, jacks and jack stands, Sawzall, etc. as required to perform work
Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to ensure efficient use of time
Ability to work in a positive and productive team environment
Ability to show initiative, problem solving, technical skills, and demonstrate teamwork

Responsibilities
