Requirements

Must have equivalent to a 2-year Mechanical Associate Degree and at least 8,000 on-the-job hours or > than 4 years of experience.
Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule.
The successful candidate must pass a "Fit for Duty" exam designed for the Mechanic Job Description.
Works independently, coordinates PMs, rebuilds, shutdowns and other employees as required.
Displays innovativeness when dealing with complex problems.
Trains others in maintenance techniques designed for sensitive processes.
Works as a member of a team.
Prepares maintenance projects and layouts.
Interfaces with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
Responsible for the quality of work, timeliness, work methods, and practices.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance work on plant and facilities equipment.
Troubleshoot and service equipment using hand and maintenance tools and skills.
Work from blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions.
Operate a wide variety of equipment including saws, benders, breaks, pipe threaders, drills, gauges, micrometers, industrial fork trucks, hand trucks, machine tools, welding equipment, carts, ladders, and lifts.
Perform tasks such as removing and reinstalling equipment, bearing replacements, equipment rebuilds, and pipe bending and installation.
Provide cross-training for other skilled trades.
May be a member of a work group or team that utilizes business skills such as writing and entering work orders, material purchasing, project coordination, quotes and estimates, and using computers in the performance of duties.
