This specific position focuses on performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks, including mechanical maintenance such as installation, fabrication, assembly, set-up, and diagnosis.

Requirements

  • Must have equivalent to a 2-year Mechanical Associate Degree and at least 8,000 on-the-job hours or > than 4 years of experience.
  • Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule.
  • The successful candidate must pass a "Fit for Duty" exam designed for the Mechanic Job Description.
  • Works independently, coordinates PMs, rebuilds, shutdowns and other employees as required.
  • Displays innovativeness when dealing with complex problems.
  • Trains others in maintenance techniques designed for sensitive processes.
  • Works as a member of a team.
  • Prepares maintenance projects and layouts.
  • Interfaces with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Responsible for the quality of work, timeliness, work methods, and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance work on plant and facilities equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and service equipment using hand and maintenance tools and skills.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions.
  • Operate a wide variety of equipment including saws, benders, breaks, pipe threaders, drills, gauges, micrometers, industrial fork trucks, hand trucks, machine tools, welding equipment, carts, ladders, and lifts.
  • Perform tasks such as removing and reinstalling equipment, bearing replacements, equipment rebuilds, and pipe bending and installation.
  • Provide cross-training for other skilled trades.
  • May be a member of a work group or team that utilizes business skills such as writing and entering work orders, material purchasing, project coordination, quotes and estimates, and using computers in the performance of duties.
