About The Position

The Mechanic position is a full-time role within the Central Office, responsible for the maintenance and repair of transportation vehicles, including school buses and vans. The role involves diagnosing and repairing issues, maintaining inventory, providing emergency road service, and assisting drivers with vehicle upkeep. The position also requires maintaining a clean work area and assisting with snow and ice removal as needed. Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Previous experience providing maintenance and repair of transportation vehicles.
• Current Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement, no Air Brake Restriction, and clean driving record.
• Current Class 7 State Inspection license.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience maintaining/repairing school buses and diesel engines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain school buses, vans, and other equipment as assigned.
• Maintain adequate supply of all inventory and supplies.
• Provide emergency road service to district vehicles.
• Assist drivers when required to maintain proper fuel supply, engine oil level, transmission oil level, engine coolant level, and proper air pressure in tires.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Assist with snow and ice removal as needed.
