About The Position

The mechanic is responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and engines used throughout the operation. The mechanic troubleshoots, diagnoses, and corrects any deficiencies on company related equipment including but not limited to cranes, hydraulic systems, charging/ starting systems, mechanical gear drives, pneumatic controls, and diesel/gas/propane engines.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance experience
Must be able to read/write/communicate in English.
Able to use basic math skills
Must be able to follow directions
Ability to utilize fall arrest systems and harnesses
Ability to work at various heights
Performing applicable maintenance activities
Developing preventative maintenance programs
Applying basic operational principles and practices
Developing maintenance operating policies and procedures
Developing and analyzing applicable maintenance reports
Working with other functions throughout the organization
Investigating and resolving maintenance problems
Ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications
Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction
Demonstrate radio professionalism in communications
Ability to work extended hours, including holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts as needed
Be physically fit to perform all essential physical demands of this job safely.

Responsibilities

Ensuring the safe operation of all equipment
Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct equipment using repair manuals, schematics, diagrams, and specs as well as diagnostic procedure
Develop, analyze and review a variety of operational reports to examine equipment usage, preventative maintenance, efficiency, quality, and other areas and implements operational changes as required.
Assist in developing operating policies and procedures to ensure the efficient use of resources and to maintain a safe work environment.
Ensure maintenance schedules, quality initiatives, safety targets, efficiency metrics, and other operational measurements are met for the maintenance functions.
Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Implement and monitor projects that impact specific functions to ensure objectives and timelines are met and works with management or other personnel as required to complete tasks.
Assist with reviewing and coordinating general operations with all other functional areas.
Perform various corrective and preventive maintenance and repair work that will involve skills within several of the following areas: mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, welding, and other skilled trades depending on operational needs
Report ALL incidents through company’s reporting protocol
Support company safety initiatives
Demonstration of knowledge of all required competencies
Perform other duties as required
