About The Position

This posting is for an Auto Mechanic to repair and maintain vehicles on site. The main duties will include, but are not limited to, working on and maintaining diesel and gas vehicles and diesel generators. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Requirements

Qualified candidates will be required to pass a DISA background check, drug test, and have a clear driver's license.
Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
Will talk and hear to communicate.
Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.

Responsibilities

Working on and maintaining diesel and gas vehicles and diesel generators.
Ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
Following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
Troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removing defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
Examining form and texture of parts.
Determining changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Controlling downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
Fabricating repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Maintaining equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
Conserving maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Providing mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Preparing mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintaining technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
Maintaining continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
