About The Position

The Mechanic position involves performing routine repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, often under supervision. This role requires diagnosing, rebuilding, and repairing vehicles and equipment, as well as performing inspections and preventive maintenance. The mechanic will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports. The job demands the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, knowledge of safety practices, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team. The role also requires sensitivity to confidential information and the ability to handle a demanding workload with strong physical and mental health. Occasional overtime may be required, and the position involves frequent travel and the ability to work in various weather conditions, including varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of six months work related skill, knowledge, and hands on experience or vocational training preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be knowledgeable of safety practices and procedures.
  • Must possess ability to work independently and as a member of team.
  • Sensitive to confidential information.
  • Able to read, speak and write English.
  • Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload.
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
  • Climbing - able to go up and down stairs.
  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats when needed, including welding safety equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses, rebuilds, and repairs vehicles and equipment with supervision as needed.
