About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing all rolling stock, assisting in the development of maintenance schedules, ensuring timely completion of work according to schedules, and performing routine building maintenance and repair at company locations. The role requires strong mechanical skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rule, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to be forklift trained and certified

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all rolling stock
  • Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on rolling stock and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor
  • Maintain records of maintenance and repairs for rolling stock
  • Ensure proper completion, compilation, and retention of daily operating checklists for forklifts within company policies
  • Report any exceptions to completing daily operating checklists for forklifts to appropriate management
  • Repair and/or replace safety equipment, as necessary
  • Communicate maintenance, repairs, and tool replacements, that are needed to supervisor
  • Provide estimates for repairs to supervisor in advance of work being preformed
  • Communicate maintenance and repair schedules to location managers, as necessary
  • Demonstrate safe work practices
