About The Position

Select’s Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing mechanical problems, repairing and rebuilding equipment on or off-site. Maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, adjusting, and alignments, and keeping records. Ensures a clean, safe work environment at all times. Identifies and maintains an inventory of high-use, common maintenance items. Functions “on-call” in order to respond to emergency callouts. Controls costs of in-house and outsourced maintenance or repairs through use of warranty and vendor evaluation. Maintains transportation fleet in a manner that ensures the safety and protection of employees, clients and general public including the environment. Must possess valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select’s insurance guidelines.

Requirements

• 3 to 4 years of related work experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects.
• Physical stamina.

Nice To Haves

• Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program is highly preferred.
