About The Position

Primoris Gas Operations, which includes companies like Q3 Contracting, ARB, Primoris Distribution Services, Snelson, and Pipejacking Trenchless, has over 60 years of experience in the natural gas distribution industry. They focus on providing a safe environment, quality workmanship, and exceptional value. Q3 Contracting, a division of Primoris Services Corporation, is a publicly owned construction contracting company serving the gas, oil, electric, and telecommunications industries. They are currently seeking a 2nd shift shop mechanic for their Little Canada, MN office.

Requirements

  • Ability to work 2:00pm to 11:00pm Monday through Friday.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of five years verifiable experience in the automotive/truck maintenance field is required.
  • A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is always required.
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • A two-year technical, vocational or trade school diploma or degree in auto, truck, and/or heavy equipment is desired.
  • Fluid Power Society and/or ASE certifications desired.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, service, repair and maintain equipment assets including vehicles, trailers, aerials and yellow iron.
  • Practice safety rules.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Safe use of hand & power tools.
  • Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
  • Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
  • Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Utilize various electronic diagnostic equipment and make minor and major repairs to electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, gasoline and diesel systems.
  • Perform mobile work as required, which may involve some overnight travel and out-of-state travel.
  • Work overtime as the company determines based upon job requirements.
  • Work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
  • Pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials.
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.).
  • Be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.
