About The Position

The Mechanic for ET Genco performs operations, maintenance, diagnostics, and field repairs on ET Genco assets. The role also provides customer service and maintains accurate records. Work includes generator maintenance and repair, troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, start-ups, inventory management, and responding to operational issues and emergencies. The position participates in a rotating on-call schedule and may require after-hours, weekend, and holiday callouts, as well as occasional overnight travel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience working on industrial generators or gas engines.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong self-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a group environment.
• Relevant industry or equivalent work experience: Level C requires 0–2 years; Level B requires 2–4 years; Level A/Lead requires 4 or more years.
• Ability to work in industrial and construction settings, including potentially hazardous products, processes, materials, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and loud machinery, and to follow safe work practices.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and lift more than 75 pounds, with or without assistance.
• Reliable attendance.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, such as Cat 3500 engines and Cat control panels.
• Willingness and ability to travel overnight occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on generator systems.
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, and start-ups.
• Maintain parts inventory for assigned locations.
• Identify causes of generator problems and failures.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Provide emergency and unscheduled generator repairs during normal working hours and after hours, on weekends, and holidays as directed.
• Communicate effectively with customers and the ET Genco team.
• Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
