About The Position

The Mechanic at CHARLES SARGENT IRRIGATION INC is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of trucks and service trucks involved in water well construction and repair. This role is crucial to maintaining the efficiency and safety of operations, contributing to the company's commitment to delivering high-quality irrigation solutions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred.
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance, specifically with trucks and service trucks.
  • Proven track record of diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues effectively.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of truck systems and components.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and service trucks.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical problems.
  • Knowledge of water well construction and repair processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Currently hold a CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL once hired.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures in all aspects of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in water well construction and repair is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and service trucks to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.

  • Adhere to company safety standards and practices, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in vehicle maintenance technology to continually improve service quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
