About The Position

This position is responsible for Fleet Operations and Maintenance. The role involves servicing and repairing all fleet vehicles, performing preventive maintenance, and diagnosing and repairing mechanical, engine, and electrical irregularities. The mechanic will also drive vehicles for testing and parts transfer, and manage parts inventory and ordering.

Requirements

5+ years of experience (Preferably Dealership. Foreign/Domestic vehicle experience a plus)
Possession of valid driver’s license (C or better) and ability to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles from 2,000 to 50,000 lbs. in size.
Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
Must meet DOT standards to achieve brake and annual inspection certifications.
A minimum of 1 year experience or a certificate from an approved training program.
Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders, labels, and gauges (in English).
Ability to write work orders, purchase orders.
Ability to communicate verbally (in English) using telephone for ordering parts and supplies.

Responsibilities

Service and repair of all fleet vehicles.
Perform preventive maintenance (lube, oil change, replace belts, hoses, inspect brakes, repack bearings, check tires, on all size vehicles.
Diagnose and effectively repair mechanical, engine and electrical irregularities/malfunctions on all size vehicles.
Drive automatic and standard shift vehicles for testing, transfer, and pick-up/delivery of parts.
Perform inventory and order parts, supplies, as needed.
