About The Position

This role involves installing and upfitting vehicle equipment, performing mechanical repairs and maintenance, and diagnosing issues on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles. The position requires fabrication skills, electrical system troubleshooting, and ensuring the quality and safety of completed work. The mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining records and adhering to safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation instructions
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of experience in vehicle mechanics, upfitting, or fleet maintenance
• CDL a plus, if applicable
• Basic welding or fabrication skills

Responsibilities

• Install and upfit vehicle equipment such as toolboxes, racks, lighting, cameras, PTOs, liftgates, and auxiliary systems
• Perform mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and schematics
• Fabricate and modify brackets, mounts, and components as needed
• Wire and troubleshoot electrical systems, including lighting, switches, and controls
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality, safety, and proper operation
• Maintain accurate service and installation records
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Communicate with supervisors regarding job status, parts needs, and repair recommendations
