About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a Mechanic/Vehicle Technician to join their team in Mason City, IA. This role involves diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems including gasoline engines, powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems. Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned company founded in 1978, with headquarters in St. Cloud, MN, and operations expanding throughout the Midwest. They currently employ over 1,800 people and focus on standard, next-day ground delivery.

Requirements

Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn
At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair gasoline engines and other powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.
Ability to use scan tool and laptop technology
Follow reasonable instructions from shift leader
Ability to work independently and/ or with team
Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
Help maintain an effective and clean work environment
Perform other related duties as assigned
