About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned company founded in 1978, specializing in standard, next-day ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility are located in St. Cloud, MN. The company has expanded throughout the Midwest and employs over 1,800 people. This role is for a Mechanic/Vehicle Technician who will diagnose and repair various vehicle components including gasoline engines, powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems. The position offers a 4-day work week and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time employees.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam.
Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet.
Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

Welding and torch experience.
Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair gasoline engines and other powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.
Use scan tool and laptop technology.
Follow reasonable instructions from shift leader.
Work independently and/or with a team.
Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment.
Help maintain an effective and clean work environment.
Obtain own tools to complete all job functions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
