About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a Mechanic/Vehicle Technician to diagnose and repair gasoline engines and other powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems. This is a full-time position with available shifts Monday-Friday, starting at 7:00 AM or 2:00 PM. Occasional Saturdays may be required. The company offers overtime pay at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned company established in 1978, with headquarters in St. Cloud, MN, and operations expanding throughout the Midwest. They employ over 1,800 people company-wide.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions.
Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn.
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam.
Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet.
Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive.
Work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair gasoline engines and other powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.
Use scan tool and laptop technology.
Follow reasonable instructions from shift leader.
Work independently and/or with a team.
Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment.
Help maintain an effective and clean work environment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
