The primary objective of equipment maintenance is the repair and up-keep of production equipment, ensuring it is kept in a safe, effective operating condition so that production and quality targets can be met on time and at cost. This role involves assisting equipment technicians or service personnel with technical support, which may be accomplished by phone/email or directly at a job site. The position requires developing quick and accurate communication with field personnel and dispatch, assuring the quality of repairs to minimize recall/duplicate work, and ensuring compliance with all governmental and company safety policies. The role also involves reviewing shop tool requirements for efficiency, observing and reporting deficiencies to improve the PM program, and participating in technical training with dealers/manufacturers, passing on that training to other mechanics. Close collaboration with Field Services Dispatcher and parts personnel is necessary for on-time parts delivery. This position is hourly and requires overtime as needed. The company does not provide industry standard tools, so the technician must have sufficient tools to do the job. The service truck must be kept clean and orderly. Responsibilities include staying within HOS (hours of service), if applicable, and complying with all Trimble/Telogis regulations. Other job-related duties as required or assigned.
