About The Position

Taylor DM Brands, formerly Amsterdam Print, is looking for a Mechanic Technician to join the team at our Amsterdam, NY facility. This role involves constructing, maintaining, and testing mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. The ideal candidate will identify parts for replacement, order necessary components, and perform a variety of complicated tasks, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position reports to a supervisor and allows for a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand general written instructions from documents such as work orders, parts orders, safety regulations, operating procedures, or other job specific written documents.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively with fellow employees.
  • Valid NYS drivers license
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
  • Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
  • Frequently required to move inside the facility
  • Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous industrial electric and machine maintenance experience
  • Degree or Certificate for industrial electric, electric distribution, machine controls, plc

Responsibilities

  • Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.
  • Identifies parts for replacement and machines that need new parts and places orders as necessary.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • Reports to a supervisor.
