Construction - Intern Mechanic’s Helper (Entry Level)
About The Position
Knik Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an entry-level summer intern for a Mechanic’s Helper position. This opportunity is open to recent high school graduates interested in mechanics, equipment, or hands-on work. No experience is required. Knik Construction is one of the largest and most geographically diverse civil and heavy construction companies in the state of Alaska. We work with DOT Agencies, FAA-regulated airports, boroughs, and privately owned contractors who trust us to ensure jobs run smoothly. Requirements
- Recently graduated from high school
- Interest in mechanical or hands-on work
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet
- Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather
- Willingness to learn and ask questions
- Dependable and positive attitude
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Assist mechanics with routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles
- Help with inspections, cleaning, and basic repairs
- Learn how construction equipment is maintained
- Organize tools and keep shop areas clean
- Follow safety rules and work as part of a team
- Perform duties as assigned
