It is through their efforts and talents that Titan has been successful for over 100 years. Titan Virginia Ready Mix is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to work in Norfolk, VA. This is an hourly position reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor. The primary responsibility of this position is to repair and maintain machinery, both electronic and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and other plant and mobile equipment related to our concrete plants and facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Related experience and/or training in hydraulic systems, electrical, air conditioning, and pneumatics
  • Previous experience doing preventative maintenance inspections and scheduling
  • Previous welding, fabrication, and heavy equipment operation experience
  • Strong mechanical skills and the ability to problem solve
  • Dedication to maintain the highest standard of safety in all aspects of the job
  • Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and repair, certification preferred
  • Dedication to maintain the highest standard of safety in all aspects of the job
  • Must provide own tools

  • Ready-mix industry knowledge or related industry a plus

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes required work orders and sketches in order to troubleshoot, repair and install equipment
  • Make plant repairs and perform maintenance in a timely manner to ensure continuous operations
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance inspections, repairs, and scheduling
  • Follow all applicable safety regulations and policies
  • Identify multiple projects and prioritize work to maximize plant productivity
  • Communicate clearly and effectively at various levels to obtain and provide information needed to accomplish goals
  • Perform maintenance and repair of various types of plant equipment across various plant locations
  • Maximize equipment availability through the use of efficient and proactive preventative maintenance programs
