About The Position

Responsibilities are to set-up, repair, troubleshoot, perform routine preventive maintenance and operate multiple machines within the packaging department.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or one year certificate from college or technical school
  • Minimum of 1 year working in a manufacturing environment as an operator
  • No previous experience in a manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to perform on-line quality inspections
  • Must be able to work under FDA/ISO/QSR guidelines
  • Must have mechanical knowledge
  • Must be able to follow moderately complex instructions both written and oral
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Obtain packaging materials needed to run machines
  • Set-up machines following cGMP and THI procedures
  • Submit necessary daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checklists
  • Perform preventive maintenance on packaging equipment
  • Reports process or equipment problems to supervisor; performs major or critical troubleshooting
  • Ensures work instructions, equipment log books, and other relevant records are current
  • Monitors process and equipment and makes necessary adjustments to maintain work instructions specifications
  • Monitors product quality
  • Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including environmental and safety rules and regulations
  • Provides support, direction and coaching to subordinate employees in the areas of training, problem resolution, planning, and work assignment completion
  • Reviews work and provide technical assistance to less experienced Mechanic and/or Machine Operators
