Requirements

Must have High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D).
General mechanical background and training with some knowledge of pipefitting, carpentry, and mechanical mechanisms, and tools and measuring instruments associated with the work.
Must understand overhaul methods and repair techniques for mechanical equipment, and work from drawings and service manuals.
Equivalent to 2-3 years trades training.
1-2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

Perform the mechanical work necessary to install, overhaul, maintain, alter, and repair equipment assigned to facilities maintenance and construction.
Focus on rigging, welding, heavy equipment operation, and other millwright functions.
Perform associated duties throughout the plant as assigned.
Under direction of Leader/Supervisor, follow specific instructions and use drawings, manuals, and other specifications to obtain required materials, tools, and equipment and carry out assignments.
Perform system and component installation, maintenance, and repair.
Carry out preventive maintenance and service as required.
Provide assistance to others in system operation, care, use, and maintenance of equipment.
Work in support of others on special projects.
Perform similar duties throughout the facility within the scope and skill level of this job description.
Assist other trades working on joint projects where common skill crossover provides the opportunity for shared responsibilities and more effective use of available skills.
Refer difficulties to Leader/Supervisor.
May be required to train for, obtain, and maintain licenses, operator permits, and certifications within assigned trade specialization.
