Facility Maintenance Mechanics perform preventive maintenance and repair on material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems. They also maintain and repair general building infrastructure, including pallet racking, overhead doors, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical equipment. Additionally, Mechanics maintain and repair a wide variety of industrial equipment like sweepers, scrubbers, bailers, pallet sorters, dock levelers, carts, cranes, and dollies. Some roles may involve maintenance and repair of compressors and ammonia refrigeration equipment, changing and maintaining industrial batteries, light remodeling, carpentry, painting, and assisting with work performed by outside contractors. Mechanics are responsible for performing scheduled inspections, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and building infrastructure to minimize downtime. They must complete work orders, manage time effectively, and collaborate with other team members to ensure safe and efficient operations.
