About The Position

Tessera is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanic, Maintenance who is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities and inspecting the condition and performance of the equipment and machinery for business operations and processes. Maintenance Mechanics handle equipment repairs and replacement of defective components. They also install and assemble equipment by analyzing mechanical schematics and blueprints accurately. A mechanic, maintenance creates a comprehensive schedule of inspection, repairs, and quality control checks to preserve the safe standards of the premises.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/GED
  • 0-3 years' experience in Facility Maintenance or closely related field.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team, and communicate with other in a courteous and helpful way.
  • Must be able to work safely and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods in a variety of different environments, including adverse weather and high places.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
  • No employee or representative of the Contractor will be admitted to the site of work unless satisfactory proof of U.S. citizenship is furnished.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general maintenance of facilities including carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing work.
  • Inspects mechanical systems and machinery to ensure proper operation by performing required maintenance, adjustments or repairs.
  • Repairs or replaces faulty parts such as gears, valves, seals, and bearings.
  • Uses and installs chain hoists or any other lifting device for rigging equipment and hardware into position.
  • Assembles, installs, tests and maintains mechanical systems, apparatus, and appliances, using hand tools/power tools.
