This position is responsible for analyzing and making repairs on brood equipment, including boilers, feed and lighting systems. The role involves installing, connecting, and adjusting electrical and pneumatic brood equipment, as well as performing plumbing tasks. The mechanic will utilize electrical test equipment and common brood maintenance tools and equipment. Responsibilities include performing maintenance on various brood systems such as boilers (natural gas and diesel-fired), vaporizers (LP gas), foggers, well and water systems, lighting, feed and injectors/medication systems, and pneumatic temperature controls. The role requires working from blueprints/schematics for maintenance, repair, or installation. Additionally, the position involves assisting in training subordinate employees, general cleaning, and assisting other crews if required. Maintaining safety, housekeeping, sanitation, and disease control requirements are essential while performing job duties.
