About The Position

Join the MV Transportation team at Butler Transit in Butler, PA, as an experienced Mechanic Level A. This role involves working on modern transit and CNG-powered buses in a clean, professional shop environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, HVAC, and wheelchair lifts, ensuring the fleet remains safe, reliable, and road-ready. The company offers paid training, ASE certification support, CDL training, and boot allowances.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Combination of at least five (5) years of apprentice level verifiable training and experience in automotive or diesel mechanics, which may include high school mechanics courses and/or a regional occupational program.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug testing.

Nice To Haves

CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement preferred. Candidates may obtain the endorsement through Company-sponsored training prior to completing their introductory period.

Responsibilities

Diagnoses, examines, and investigates vehicles to determine causes of defective operation of vehicle systems and components.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of vehicles.
Execute major and minor repairs of defective components.
Document all activities in MV’s Fleet Management System.
Maintain work environment in an organized and safe condition.
