About The Position

The Mechanic-Journey is directly responsible for the maintenance, technical repairs and overhaul related tasks for keeping gathering system compression and cryogenic plants in operation. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance, as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The position involves working with various types of equipment and potentially in hazardous conditions. The company is a value-driven corporation focused on developing, owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets. They generate revenue under long-term and fee-based gathering agreements, which enhances cash flow stability and limits commodity price exposure. Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years stable work history in the energy industry and/or technical training in mechanical field
  • Experience with hand tools as well as specialty tools
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, including spreadsheet and word processing applications
  • Strong commitment to personal and job safety including complying with state and federal regulations
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of mechanical equipment
  • Good verbal/written communication skills
  • Decision making skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Willing to work callouts, holidays, and weekends
  • Must live or relocate to within 1 hour’s response time of job assignment
  • Willing to work at more than one specific station
  • Ability to interface positively with land owners, corporate contacts and other field personnel
  • Dexterity in the use of tools and equipment
  • Ability to climb about equipment and work at various heights
  • Ability to use physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools
  • Able to work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position and work in confined spaces
  • Able to bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Manually transport a load up to 75 lbs.
  • Apply up to 100 feet pounds of torque
  • Get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads
  • React to conditions, alarms and beacons using olfactory senses
  • Assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions
  • Work indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment
  • Work in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment
  • Wear special safety equipment (PPE) while working
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Technical certification or equivalent training in mechanical environment or energy related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Daily repairs and maintenance of compressor stations with reciprocating natural gas centrifugal and rotary screw compressors
  • Completing and maintaining required work orders
  • Monitoring and adjusting equipment to maintain optimum availability, efficiency, and throughput
  • Performing minor as well as major maintenance on engines, compressors, dehydrators, vapor recovery units, flares, separators, slug catchers, air compressors, and cooling fans
  • Working with craft personnel to ensure any equipment/system problems are resolved in a timely manner
  • Reporting, troubleshooting, and correcting abnormal operating conditions
  • Coordinating and monitoring activities of contract personnel assigned to the area
  • Identifying emergency situations and initiating Emergency Response Procedures
  • Promoting a safe work environment, implementing current safety policies and ensuring environmental policies and regulatory compliance are being met
  • Maintaining working knowledge of regulatory requirements, performing required tasks, and completing associated documentation (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.)
  • Monitoring meters and gauges to maintain correct temperature, pressure and flow of gas through system
