About The Position

Colville, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanic III to join our Transport Division in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, permanent, non-rotational position for a skilled diesel or heavy equipment mechanic who takes pride in diagnosing tough problems, performing quality repairs, and keeping equipment safe and ready for the road. Requirements

  • 5+ years of diesel, heavy-duty truck, or heavy equipment mechanic experience
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and mechanical repair skills
  • Experience performing complex repairs with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work associated with heavy-duty maintenance and repair
  • Ability to work extended hours when operational needs require
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • ASE certifications, diesel technology training, or equivalent technical education
  • Experience maintaining and repairing Class 8 trucks
  • Experience working with mixed fleets and heavy equipment

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and major repairs on light- and heavy-duty trucks and equipment
  • Complete preventive maintenance and DOT annual inspections
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, and steering systems
  • Rebuild engines, transmissions, differentials, and related components
  • Utilize diagnostic software and tools such as Cat ET, Cummins INSITE, DAVIE, and ESA
  • Assist with fabrication and welding as needed
  • Accurately document repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and work area
  • Work collaboratively with the maintenance and operations teams to keep equipment safe, reliable, and ready for service
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support business operations
