Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in crane or heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, PLC programming, and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company insurability standards.
  • TWIC card required or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fueling, inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs.
  • Complex mechanical repairs (hydraulic, pneumatic, brakes, hubs, drive/steer assemblies).
  • Advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software (Cummins, Volvo, PLC systems).
  • Perform PLC programming and troubleshooting. Interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for complex repairs.
  • Diagnose root causes and recommend system improvements.
  • Restore equipment to OEM specifications and operational standards.
  • Run training classes and lead other mechanics in executing repairs.
  • Mentor junior mechanics and provide technical guidance.
  • Assign work orders and monitor progress for quality and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams regarding equipment status.
