About The Position

PADNOS is a full-service recycling company that handles paper, plastic, metals, and electronic recycling and provides tailored recycling programs for consumer and industrial clients throughout the United States. The Mechanic performs inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment including semi-tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, and machinery. The work includes servicing brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, lighting, and mechanical components, as well as repairing hydraulic, electrical, and other mechanical components. The Mechanic diagnoses problems to identify repair needs and completes required paperwork.

Requirements

At least one year of related diesel mechanic experience or related military training.
Mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
Related experience and knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used to repair semi-tractors and trailers.
Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Attention to accuracy and detail.
Demonstrated safety consciousness.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of welding and torching is helpful but not required.
Relevant military experience.

Responsibilities

Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on semi-tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, and machinery.
Service brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, lighting, and mechanical components.
Repair hydraulic, electrical, and other mechanical components.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues to identify repair needs.
Prepare and complete required paperwork.
