About The Position
Colville Transport is hiring a Mechanic II in Fairbanks to support our growing fleet. This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive pay, benefits, and profit sharing. The ideal candidate is an experienced trailer mechanic with strong diagnostic skills, takes pride in quality repairs, and wants to work for a company that values safety and teamwork. This role involves diagnosing and repairing various types of trailers and performing inspections and maintenance.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of trailer and/or heavy-duty diesel repair experience
- Ability to perform intermediate to complex repairs with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Experience with air brake and suspension systems
- Welding experience (aluminum preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL a plus)
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
Nice To Haves
- ASE certification or diesel technology training preferred
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair tank trailers, flatbeds, and heavy-duty trailer systems
- Perform DOT annual inspections and preventative maintenance
- Repair brake systems, air systems, suspensions, lighting, wheel seals, and structural components
- Complete aluminum and steel welding repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic issues with minimal supervision
- Maintain accurate service documentation
- Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support business operations.
