About The Position

Temple University's School of Dentistry is searching for a Mechanic II: Dental! As the second-oldest dental school in the U.S., the Maurice H. Requirements

  • At least 5 years of related experience in a dental or similar environment.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must be able to travel between dental school clinics as needed.
  • Ability to perform plumbing duties as well as carpentry and electrical repairs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of dental units.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse populations of students, faculty, staff, and other external contacts.
  • Must have great attention to detail and sound judgments with the ability to make independent decision.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining various dental equipment for the Kornberg School of Dentistry.
  • Repair of hand pieces, the hand piece delivery system, sterilizers, dental chairs and associated plumbing, lab equipment, and x-ray equipment and processors.
  • Ordering necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Keeping accurate inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining various clinical dental equipment such as dental chairs, sinks, hand pieces, sterilizers, x-ray units.
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining dental laboratory equipment, and practice units.
