About The Position

This role involves performing duties necessary to repair or maintain mobile equipment. The Mechanic I will repair and rebuild mobile equipment engines and component parts. They will also perform planned and unplanned maintenance on large offroad mobile mining equipment, including pit loaders, yard loaders, haul trucks, excavators, mobile crushing and screening plants, service trucks, light duty vehicles, and other auxiliary vehicles used in Heidelberg Materials' facilities. Responsibilities also include making minor repairs and adjustments, and inspecting and lubricating mobile equipment. Miscellaneous duties as requested may also be part of the role.

Requirements

Strong mechanical aptitude and the capability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mobile equipment.
Ability to understand and follow technical instructions, maintenance procedures, and safety practices.
Awareness of safe work habits while working around heavy machinery and moving equipment.
Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in outdoor and indoor industrial environments.
Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach to supporting operational needs.
Diesel Tech experience or education.
Industry experience working on "big yellow" iron (offroad construction or mining equipment).

Inspect and grease/lubricate mobile equipment.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as may be requested.
