This role is responsible for completing quality preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on all company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment. The mechanic will perform preventative maintenance according to OEM, DOT, and company specifications, and will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing various vehicle components and systems. This includes disassembling, repairing, and reassembling heavy truck and trailer components such as refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, and axles. Tire maintenance, including repairs, failure analysis, coding, and identification, is also a key responsibility. The position may require the mechanic to test drive equipment if certified. Additionally, the role emphasizes maintaining a clean and safe work environment, fostering a positive work atmosphere, and proactively assisting colleagues to achieve organizational objectives.
