Holman’s upfitting division has a great opportunity for an Installation Mechanic to join our team in Bartlett, IL.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in vehicle upfitting, rail truck equipment installation, or a related field
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on installation experience
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and blueprints
  • Knowledge of 12V electrical systems and circuits
  • Troubleshooting experience in electrical and mechanical systems
  • Must pass a drug test and criminal background check prior to employment
  • Must be able to provide basic hand and power tools

Nice To Haves

  • Welding experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install aftermarket equipment on new rail trucks & fleet vehicle
  • Mount and secure service bodies, racks, cranes, generators, and other components to rail trucks.
  • Perform 12V electrical wiring and connections
  • Install and connect hydraulic systems and components
  • Perform basic fabrication per FMVSS compliance , drilling, cutting, and mounting as required
  • Test installed equipment to ensure proper operation prior to final inspection
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues as needed
  • Verify completion of all work order line items to meet quality standards
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
  • Work independently and coherently in a team environment
